Nathan (mini) Update #14

As I sit here typing at just a little after midnight, Little Man is still awake. He hasn't slept much today, and I'm hoping it doesn't carry over into the rest of the night! He is still pretty congested and has a cough that makes him spit up a lot - especially in the morning - but overall, he is doing better. No fever today! (Just a side note: if you have one of those temporal/forehead thermometers have you noticed that one side of your head is always hotter than the other??? Weird.) He is still really active and seems to be more alert everyday, which is a welcome change from just a few weeks ago. The eating went downhill with the cough and congestion, but is gradually improving. And now we know the boy likes Pedialyte. I tasted it too - not bad. Kind of like Gatorade, but a little less flavored. He still needs to eat more and eat faster. It's really a full-time job just giving meds and feeding him. I don't know what I would do if my mother wasn't here! Hopefully he will get over this virus quickly and pick up where he left off before the heart problems.
.
He's so sweet. Lots more eye contact and "talking" is making his Mama really happy. :) I think this is from his decreased seizure activity. (We like Canadian meds!!! I know - it sounds bad.) His new medication seems to be making a big difference. More on that later.
.
For now... I'm off to try to feed him one more time, then heart meds at 1AM, then off to bed. Have a good night!
