December Daily: Year's End (late)

It was the last day of the year.
We packed it with three different events with family and friends.
We didn't get home until 1AM.

Event #1: The Dallas World Aquarium with the W's

This is a really interesting place! The name "aquarium" implies "fish, etc. only" in my mind, but that is not true. The DWA has three distinct levels, all housing different types of creatures. The lower level is the actual aquarium with underwater life, then the second and third levels are rain foresty with monkeys, birds, sloths, a waterfall, and even and anteater. I know I missed a lot of things and it was really busy this particular day, but we had a great time!

Nathan had a great time being somewhere new, people watching, and playing with his new toy.

This is one of the larger tanks - everyone enjoyed seeing the manatee here.

And then there was the shark tank tunnel.

Oh my....

I'm not a big shark fan, but this was my most favorite part of the whole place.

There is a glass tunnel at the bottom of the tank for people to walk through.

Various sharks swim all around you.

It's amazing.

Event #2: Dinner & Belated Christmas with the W's

Event #3: New Year's Eve party at the M's house

The guys played some epic save the world game while the ladies relaxed. :)

All in all a great day. The kids did really good! Hannah stayed up the whole day until we got home at 1AM. She was really tired the next day! The little boys snuck in some naps in the car and in the stroller. Wow. I can't believe it's 2011 now!
